Director of Finance and Administration


Position Summary

The Director of Finance and Administration reports to the President/CEO and is responsible for all financial and fiscal management aspects of company operations and admin functions including legal, IR/PR, HR, IT and Facilities. This position requires a hands-on person to manage and be responsible for the corporate accounting activities and day-to-day operations. The right candidate is an independent and flexible professional who can work across diverse cross-functional teams to produce key deliverables on time and on budget.

About Inhalon Biopharma


Inhalon Biopharma is a rapidly growing clinical-stage company with a patented breakthrough technology for preventing and treating acute respiratory infections such as SARS-CoV-2, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), metapneumovirus (MPV) and influenza. The Company has been awarded a $7M contract by the US Army to run a Phase 1/2a study in COVID-19 patients and has multiple NIH/SBIR grants to develop its pipeline of treatments for RSV, MPV, and influenza. The company has a collaboration with Celltrion to develop an inhaled form of its Phase 3 anti-COVID-19 antibody, regdanvimab. The Phase 1 clinical study will start in Q3 2021. Inhalon operates out of Durham, NC and the SF Bay Area.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


The Director of Finance and Administration should have excellent organizational and communications skills and possess the ability to work closely with all corporate functions.

  1. Partner with the CEO and executive leadership to optimize day-to-day operations to meet our short-term objectives and long-term goals for delivering shareholder value. Understand Inhalon’s key business drivers and participate in cross-functional teams to effectively support the operations of the company.

  2. Build and lead a finance organization which can support the growing financial and operational needs of Inhalon:

    • Develop, maintain, improve and monitor the system of internal controls, accounting and corporate policies and procedures.

    • Produce timely monthly and year-end financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.

    • Produce budgeting, cash reporting, and cash flow projections and perform ad-hoc financial modeling and business analyses as needed.

    • Manage external audits, tax reporting and insurance. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements.

    • Manage grants and government awards, establishing internal procedures and policies and seeking timely reimbursement.

  3. Responsible for the annual budget and forecasting process, assisting all teams with clear timelines, goals and expectations that link to our corporate goals.

  4. Work closely with the CEO on administering compensation and benefits.

  5. Manage Inhalon’s securities, equity agreements and stock options.

  6. Prepare financial materials for the Board and investors.

  7. Responsible for day-to-day legal agreements – CDAs, vendor contracts and consulting agreements.  Work closely executive leadership and consultants on strategic collaborations.

  8. Oversee HR, IT and Facilities – managing and working with consultants to effectively manage these areas.



  • BA/BS degree; MBA and/or CPA preferred.

  • 8+ years of progressive finance and operational experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry with at least 5 years in a senior finance role.

  • Previous experience supporting successful private and mezzanine financings; IPO experience preferred.

  • Ability to prioritize, organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong cross-functional interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication and attention to detail.  

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint.
